Tailoring, Design & Watches
Grandpa Style explores the relationship between clothes, objects and everyday use. Its interests include tailoring, independent design, footwear, jewelry, photography and watches. The name describes a point of view, not an age requirement.
What you will find here
The Archive revisits people, brands and projects connected with the site’s earlier history. Watches & Wear considers proportion, accessories, shirt cuffs and the choices involved in wearing a watch day to day. English is the site’s primary editorial language.
Reading the historical articles
Our current archive entries are newly written historical accounts. They identify the sources available and explain when an original interview, image or gallery has not been reproduced. A surviving title or link is a research lead; it is not enough to recreate someone’s words.
The present publisher does not speak for Ashley Owens or the original Grandpa Style and Suited editorial teams. Original contributors are credited for the earlier work to which those credits belong. The historical press references document the earlier project, rather than endorsements of today’s publisher or commercial partners.
How we use evidence
Our dressing guides offer editorial suggestions, not universal rules about taste or fit. Published manufacturer specifications, retailer descriptions and observations from an actual sample are different kinds of evidence. A published diameter is not a measurement we have taken, and a product description is not a wearing test.
Any hands-on sample record should identify the item, its source, the date and the relevant conditions. Photographs also need clear attribution and a basis for use. We do not present newly generated pictures as recovered historical photography.
Commercial context
The present Grandpa Style project supports an associated VSF replica-watch business, RealVSFactory. This is a commercial connection of the current project. It does not imply that people, designers or publications featured in the archive endorse that business.
Where commercial products or supplied samples are discussed, the relevant article should explain their identity, source and relationship to the site. Replica products must be identified as replicas. Official specifications for a genuine watch are not evidence of a replica sample’s construction or performance.
